Salesforce and SugarCRM are constantly being compared to each other. They’ve created a natural versus competition that has forced each company to improve their CRM product every single day. We’ve done comparisons for Sugar and Salesforce in the past, but we wanted to create a simple, easy to understand chart new for 2015.

This comparison is meant to be as objective as possible, but you can make your own inferences based on the checklists of each version.

What is the future of Salesforce vs. SugarCRM?
There has been many rumors that SugarCRM will go public in 2015, but we haven’t heard any hard and fast signs of an IPO yet. If Sugar does go public, we’re confident that the likelihood that these two companies will become longtime competitors will be even more likely than it is now. With over one million users, SugarCRM has become the yin to Salesforce’s yang. Don’t hesitate to leave your comparison suggestions in the comment section below.
Keep in mind that because Salesforce is multi-tenant (every company logs into the same URL), Salesforce changes far more frequently than SugarCRM. Sugar is operated on a single-tenant basis, meaning that each and every URL needs to be updated and thus they have a rolling update whereas Salesforce only has one instance to change for everyone. The newest version of Sugar will be 7.6, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated on all the changes Sugar has in store.
