Sage PFW Migration: 100/300 ERP Suite

Sage discontinued PFW ERP software and is providing migration incentives to implement Sage 100 or 300 ERP solution in PFW’s place. If you experienced a “runtime error 449” that means Sage PFW reached it’s end of life. Migration to Sage 100/300 is a fairly simple process, and provides even better business intelligence than the previous PFW suite.

Should you migrate to Sage 100 from PFW or Pro?

Migrating from PFW to Sage 100 may be better suited for small to mid-sized business, and is often well suited for manufacturing/production business. Sage 100 does not support multi-currency or multi-lingual capabilities, while Sage 300 does. For this reason, migration to Sage 100 may only be ideally suited for national businesses as apposed to multi-national businesses. ERP may be ideal for the hospitality industry.

Sage 100 comes in two different bundles, the “Financial Bundle” and the “Distribution Bundle”. In both Sage 100 and 300, the Financial Bundle is adequate for basic accounting practices, although you may want to consider Sage 300 for processing work orders, billing of materials and inventory features.

Migrating from PFW to Sage 300 is better suited mid-sized to enterprise level business, it is often well suited for multi-national businesses such as hospitality industries. Sage 300 supports multi-currency and multi-lingual businesses. For these reasons, migration to Sage 300 is ideally suited for multi-national businesses, while Sage 100 may be better suited for English-only applications.
