Microsoft Dynamics GP VS Sage Accpac

Let The Comparison Begin!

Accpac VS Microsoft Dynamics GP

When it comes to ERP software, there is a seemingly superfluous selection available. With the old stand-bys and now open source products rapidly finding their way into the market, where does one begin to look for the right accounting software solution?

In this latest comparison between Sage Accpac (On-Premise and Cloud-Based) and Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains, BrainSell takes a look at the two ERP providers and offers an objective perspective with yet another handy checklist.

For more world-wide businesses, Microsoft is the better choice, due to its 22 (and counting) available languages. Yet, because their cost/user/month is less than half of Microsoft’s, Accpac is the fiscally smarter solution for smaller businesses.

One gleaming similarity between these two ERPs is that they both offer the ability to rent-to-own the product, which is great for smaller upstarting businesses.

So, is it Microsoft Dynamics GP or Sage Accpac, that pulls ahead in this race between two very inclusive accounting software packages?

Download the checklist here, and see what these two ERP solutions are all about!

Posted by: Kellie Pitt

BrainSell Technologies is pleased to announce its acquision of Sage Accpac Business Partner, Soft Intelligence, Inc.

Starting this month, BrainSell will be adding to its ever-growing family of ERP and CRM software providers. Soft Intelligence, a Georgia-based reseller that specializes in point of sale solutions, is selling its Accpac practice to BrainSell and therefore will improve everything from customer product knowledge to the level of support provided to customers.

Current Soft Intelligence customers will continue to receive the same caliber of support from their existing contact at Soft Intelligence. However, customers will also benefit from BrainSell’s extensive team of Accpac engineers, as well as CRM experts if they choose to increase sales with customer relationship management tools.

BrainSell’s client base will benefit from Soft Intelligence’s focus on Point of Sale Software and the integration of Counter Point.

“We are excited to announce that Soft Intelligence has merged our Sage Accpac Business Practice with BrainSell LLC,” said Soft Intelligence President Joe Masarek. “One of the nation’s largest Sage re-sellers, BrainSell, specializes in Sage ERP Accounting and CRM solutions. The merger will give us an opportunity to provide clients with an even greater level of support for Sage products.”

BrainSell Technologies, a certified Sage reseller since 1994, focuses on demonstrating and proving how ERP and CRM can make tangible and measurable differences inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to outside stakeholders.

Need a Small Business Loan? How Your ERP Software Can Help

Posted by: Jim Ward

Small Business LoansAmherst accountant James Kincaid prepares more financial statements for small-business clients now than he did two years ago.

The uptick, he says, stems from stricter lending practices. Many banks and other financial institutions want details – lots of them – before agreeing to extend financing packages to small businesses.

“It means more hours and more work, which frankly for accountants isn’t a bad thing,” said Kincaid, partner at Lougen Valenti Bookbinder & Weintraub LLP. “But it’s a huge effort for business owners.”

Banks that once accepted tax returns as proof of companies’ stability may now require full-blown financial statements, which means business owners must provide key details to accountants who, in turn, create the statements.

James Segarra, managing partner at Tronconi Segarra & Associates LLP, said he views the additional work as “helping clients become better prepared to borrow money” needed to run businesses.

“Lines (of credit) aren’t being pulled, but banks do want to see more information,” he said. “It’s a totally different system of keeping records. I don’t fault the banks, but these can be onerous things to comply with.”
