Integration of the week, SugarCRM and MAS90

Posted by: Sonja Fridell

That’s right! Developer Faye Business Systems Group has come out with an integration between Sage MAS 90 or MAS 200 (Sage’s robust ERP system) and SugarCRM. It looks pretty straight forward.

The application synchronizes customers, inventory items, customer sales history, inventory sales history, quotes, and sales orders between SugarCRM and MAS 90 and MAS 200. MAS info shows up as a module in the Sugar Account Record. Very nice for selling and bill collecting!

BrainSell Acquires Sage Reseller, Soft Intelligence, To Provide Accpac Customers With More Knowledge, Support

Posted by: Kellie Pitt

BrainSell Technologies is pleased to announce its acquision of Sage Accpac Business Partner, Soft Intelligence, Inc.

Starting this month, BrainSell will be adding to its ever-growing family of ERP and CRM software providers. Soft Intelligence, a Georgia-based reseller that specializes in point of sale solutions, is selling its Accpac practice to BrainSell and therefore will improve everything from customer product knowledge to the level of support provided to customers.

Current Soft Intelligence customers will continue to receive the same caliber of support from their existing contact at Soft Intelligence. However, customers will also benefit from BrainSell’s extensive team of Accpac engineers, as well as CRM experts if they choose to increase sales with customer relationship management tools.

BrainSell’s client base will benefit from Soft Intelligence’s focus on Point of Sale Software and the integration of Counter Point.

“We are excited to announce that Soft Intelligence has merged our Sage Accpac Business Practice with BrainSell LLC,” said Soft Intelligence President Joe Masarek. “One of the nation’s largest Sage re-sellers, BrainSell, specializes in Sage ERP Accounting and CRM solutions. The merger will give us an opportunity to provide clients with an even greater level of support for Sage products.”

BrainSell Technologies, a certified Sage reseller since 1994, focuses on demonstrating and proving how ERP and CRM can make tangible and measurable differences inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to outside stakeholders.

“Providing our customers with a greater depth of knowledge of Accpac software is our main objective in this merger,” BrainSell President and CEO Jim Ward said. “Adding Soft Intelligence to our family is a step toward a brighter future for all parties involved.”

Cloud ERP Options, NetSuite vs Acumatica

netsuite vs. accpacThe term cloud computing is no longer exclusive to simple processes such as file sharing. Cloud security has improved so much that businesses are now bringing their ERP and accounting systems to the cloud.

With ERP in the cloud, accessing financial information is no longer limited by office walls.

NetSuite and Acumatica are both cloud-based ERP systems, accessible through a web browser. They differ in licensing, feature set and flexibility. All of these points will be addressed in BrainSell’s latest white paper.

3 Reasons Why Accepting Credit Cards Makes Business Sense

Posted by: Jim Ward
Tags:

sage paymentsPersonally I put off accepting credit cards for years. Then incrementally I tried Pay Pal and Google invoice for those rare occasions that clients insisted on paying by credit card.  Pay Pal and Google invoice, while helpful, didn’t provide the credibility for our business; as we’d experience problems with no one to call. So here’s what we’ve found since adding Sage Payment solutions with their virtual terminal.

1. We’ve lowered our days to collect; as many prefer to pay via credit card (reward points).

2. Sales have increased (allowing non bank financing for our products and services).

3. We’ve reduced our exposure to bad debt. A credit card on file for those accounts who might not have enough credit terms with your company allows the sale to move forward without risk.

Yes, accepting credit cards cost around 3% off your top line, however if your margins are really tight, add a credit card processing fee.  You’ll be surprised how many people understand and accept the fee in order to use their credit card.

We’ve only been accepting credit cards with a true merchant account since the July.  The volume of sales through the credit have been astounding.
