As CRM users may (or may not) know, SugarCRM and ACT! are two very different products. Still, they are often competing for the same business because of their reasonable cost. Sensible pricing aside, these two products differ on many fronts. SugarCRM is a cloud based solution known for it’s ability to integrate marketing, sales, and customer service into one tight little package. ACT! is a primarily on premise solution known more for it’s heavy focus on contact management.
Some BIG differences between Sugar and ACT!:
- ACT! licenses can be purchased and OWNED, Sugar is a Software as a Service and you need to pay for a subscription yearly, but it’s in the cloud and easier to deploy
- Sugar has a more robust ecosystem of 3rd party add ons
- Sugar has a built in mobile product, ACT’s is an add on
