The BrainSell team was in the Big Apple last week for the Inbound Marketing Summit. It was our second IMS, the fist being Boston last October. The speaker line up was great. Here are our 4 top takeaways from the show…
- @Chrisbrogan spoke about metrics for social business. “You can’t eat a ‘like.’” So stop focusing on numbers and get some real value out of being social. He was also wicked funny. Watch his segment in full right here
- @Pistachio aka Laura Fitton from Hubspot talked mostly about Twitter. Laura gave real takeaway tips in her session. She highlighted some really neat tools that we’re trying out and they’re awesome! Examples… Twylah.com (a site that takes your Tweets and compiles a web page with them, for free). www.MuckRack.com is a site that tracks journalist’s Tweets, VERY cool. Watch her segment in full right here.
- Bettina Hein, founder and CEO of @Pixability spoke about video, and wow did we learn a TON. Embed video on your homepage for goodness sake! You can grade your site’s video effectiveness with Pixability’s awesome new tool, www.OnlineVideoGrader.com Keep things SIMPLE. You don’t need to spend a ton to create good content. Her video should be up on The Pulse Network’s YouTube Channel soon.
- And last but certainly not least, Jim Ward, founder and CEO of @BrainSell, sat on the CRM panel and used a great term that inspired some Twitter action. “Smarketing” which is the new age of inbound sales and marketing. We need to work together in this new age. One Twitter follower called Smarketing the “Brangalina of Inbound Marketing.” Jim’s video will be up on The Pulse Network’s YouTube Channel soon.
